Ranni is a Taluk in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, in India, approximately 66 kilometres from the world renowned Ayyappa Temple Sabarimala. The Taluk Headquarters is a small township on both sides of the Pamba River.
Ranni is the largest Rubber producing Taluk in Kerala, The famous Hindu temple of Sabarimala is in this Taluk.
The economy of Ranni is primarily agricultural economy, the main crops being rubber, cocoa, coconut and pepper. The township is centered around a bus stand and a market. The town's commercial area includes jewellery stores, grocery stores, bakery stores, clothes stores and other businesses.
The Main Eastern Highway ( Punalur-Pathanamthitta-Muvattupuzha Road / SH - 08 ) connects the town to other major towns.
Hindus, Muslims and Christians live in peace here. This is one of the few places where no communal riots happened even when there were a lot of issues all over India.

Aranmula,the picturesque village in Pathanamthitta district has been declared as an international tourism destination by the Union Government.
It has also been included in the Cultural Tourism programme, a joint initiative of the Union Ministry of Tourism & the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Pathanamthitta is nourished by three west flowing rivers -Pamba, Manimala and Achankovil. It abounds with natural splendours - undulating hills, dark mysterious forests, exotic wildlife and enchanting valleys
